NEW YORK, NY – Dr. Marvin Lagstein, a premier provider of accelerated orthodontics, has a new treatment that can help patients fix their crooked teeth in as little as 100 days.
Dr. Lagstein has been a longtime provider of Fastbraces® and even trains dentists across the country on the method. Fastbraces® uses a unique bracket and super-elastic wire to straighten teeth in about six months. Recently, the providers of Fastbraces® released Fastbraces Turbo®, which can give patients results in about three months.
“Fastbraces® technology has been on the cutting edge of dentistry for years and now has discovered a way to accelerate orthodontic treatment even more,” said Dr. Lagstein, who operates Smile Specialists NYC. “The treatment is ideal for patients who want to receive beautiful straight teeth without the hassle of wearing braces for years.”
Fastbraces® work so quickly because the braces move the crown and root of the tooth at the same time. Conventional braces move the tooth’s crown and root during different stages of treatment, which is why patients often need to wear traditional braces two years or longer.
Dr. Lagstein has used Fastbraces® successfully for both adults and children. He recently became a Master Affiliate of Fastbraces®, an honor achieved by only a few dentists in the world. Dr. Lagstein was honored for the certification during a formal black-tie in Dallas this month.
Dr. Lagstein said Fastbraces® Turbo will continue to change the way people view orthodontic treatments and braces.
“These braces are the newest and most exclusive braces out there,” Dr. Lagstein said. “They are very comfortable and we get fabulous results quickly, making them ideal for brides-to-be or people who need a great result in a hurry.”
Smile Specialists NYC, 236 E. 36 St., includes eight operatories and an outside courtyard, making it a spacious area for New York City. In addition to Fastbraces®, Dr. Lagstein offers full orthodontic services and is considered one of the top lingual braces providers in the country.
Lingual braces are braces that are placed behind the teeth. This style of braces has all the corrective benefits of traditional braces, but it allows adults and teens to receive their orthodontic treatment without having metal brackets or wires predominantly displayed on the front of their teeth. Lingual braces are also considered a good alternative to traditional braces because the front enamel is not bothered during the treatment.
Dr. Lagstein, originally from Brooklyn, graduated from Brooklyn College in 1964 and then earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1968. Following graduation, he earned speciality training from Eastman Dental Center in pediatric dentistry and started his own practice in 1972. He began studying orthodontics after opening the practice to address tooth growth and development issues in children and young teens. Dr. Lagstein also served for two years in the U.S. Army.
Dr. Lagstein is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a lecturer and associate professor with the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He also is on the staff at Chilton Hospital and Valley Hospital. He holds memberships with the New Jersey Dental Association, New Jersey Society of Dentistry for Children, American Dental Association, American Society of Dentistry for Children, American Association for Functional Orthodontics, Bergen County Dental Association and Mid-American Orthodontic Society.
