Q: What is the best way to get a beautiful smile?
A:At Smile Specialists NYC, we offer many types of treatments to help you get the smile you want and deserve. However, there is one type of treatment that stands above the rest when it comes to performance. Fastbraces® is a perfect solution for students and professionals who want straight teeth fast. Results are fast, beautiful, and long-lasting. We can help you get the smile you have always wanted with Fastbraces®.
Fast, Comfortable Results
Fastbraces® technology uses triangular brackets and square-shaped, heat-activated wires to move your teeth quickly and efficiently. Traditional braces use square braces and round wires to shift your teeth into position. This method first moves the crown of the tooth, then moves the root of the tooth in a second stage of treatment. Two or three years of treatment is often required for traditional braces and this method of teeth alignment.
But Fastbraces® uses patented bracket technology to move both the crown and the root of the tooth at the same time. This dramatically cuts back on the time needed for treatment. Fastbraces® are known to achieve results in as little as 3 months. The process is also virtually pain-free! Reduce treatment time and discomfort with Fastbraces® technology.
More Affordable Treatment
In addition to working faster than traditional braces, Fastbraces® is also often more cost effective than traditional braces. Why pay more for a longer treatment? We understand that paying for braces is a concern for many people, and we want to offer an affordable, effective solution. We also offer payment plans and various other payment options. To learn more about how to pay for your orthodontic care, visit our payment options page.
Long-Lasting, Beautiful Smile
Not only will Fastbraces® let you see results faster than traditional braces, but the results will also last a lifetime. Traditional braces often require constantly wearing a retainer, or at least overnight use, while Fastbraces® typically only require wearing a retainer for about 20 minutes a day. Because of the way your teeth are shifted initially, your teeth are more naturally stable in their new position, and less retainer use is necessary.
At Smile Specialists NYC, we guarantee our smiles. No matter which solution you choose, we will keep your smile looking great for life. As long as you wear your retainer as directed by your doctor, we will correct any shifts that may occur completely free of charge to you. We are confident in the quality of our work and want to make sure our patients are taken care of.
Are Fastbraces® Right for Me?
The only way to know for sure if Fastbraces® are right for you is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Lagstein. During the consultation, an examination will be performed, and we will be able to determine if you are a good candidate for the Fastbraces® orthodontic treatment. To schedule your free consultation, call our office at (212) 287-1282 or sign up online right now. We would be happy to assist you on your way to a straighter, more beautiful smile.
Q: What’s the best way to get straight teeth fast?
A:Are you a busy professional who wants to improve their smile quickly? Do you have a child who hates the idea of 2 or 3 years in braces? We have a solution for you. Our office can offer you or your child the option of achieving results in as little as 3 months. Fastbraces® technology is known for its ability to straighten smiles quickly and comfortably.
While there are other “fast” treatments available on the market, Fastbraces® is by far the method with the most accuracy, affordability, and comfort. In as little as 3 months, you can see beautiful results that will last you a lifetime. Other orthodontic treatments that claim to be fast can actually produce different results and may not get you the smile you deserve.
Why Six Month Smiles Isn’t the Solution
Many patients hear “Six Month Smiles” and jump for joy. Who wouldn’t? A beautifully straight smile in just 6 months? That is way better than the 2 or 3 years often required for traditional braces! However, what most people don’t understand is that the Six Month Smiles solution is designed to be a short-term solution for mild cosmetic problems. Much like Invisalign, it is ineffective in treating severe cases of malocclusion or bite problems. Six Month Smiles focuses on correcting only the teeth visible when you smile or talk. It is created to solve very minor crowding, spacing, or alignment issues. General dentists often offer this service when they want to provide some sort of orthodontic care system at their practice.
Our office offers two great alternatives to Six Month Smiles that are both fast and effective. For mild cases and a short-term solution, consider Invisalign. It does everything Six Month Smiles can do and more. Invisalign focuses on aligning your whole smile for optimum orthodontic health. The average time patients wear Invisalign aligners is around 12 months, but treatment can be completed in as little as 6 months. However, Invisalign is still designed to treat only mild cases of malocclusion. Patients who have more severe crowding or bite issues should consider another option.
Our other alternative for quick and effective treatment is Fastbraces®. It is by far the fastest option we offer and potentially even faster than Six Month Smiles! Fastbraces® uses a patented triangle bracket designed to shift both the root of your tooth and the crown at the same time. This allows treatment to be quick and comfortable. We even offer the options of ceramic brackets when you choose Fastbraces® – get the aesthetic appeal and speed of Six Month Smiles with even better results!

Q: How soon should my child be evaluated for braces?
A:At Smile Specialists NYC, we love treating children. Dr. Lagstein’s experience working with children allows him to treat kids in a way that is gentle and understanding of the their needs. Our team loves to see kids light up when they see their new smile without braces for the first time. Having a smile you can be proud of can truly be life-changing for people of all ages.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children should be evaluated for the first time at around age 7. We would love to help set up a first-time appointment for you child. Call our office during business hours to speak to a member of our staff.
Before Age 10
When you bring your 7- to 10-year-old in for their first appointment at Smile Specialists, there are a few things we will look for. During an initial visit, your child will be screened for abnormal tooth loss and eruption, crowding and spacing problems, alignment issues, protrusive front teeth, underbites, and other bite problems. If any issues are found, we will suggest intervention. This is the perfect age for Phase I treatment. Phase I treatment includes all of the procedures and therapies we can employ in order to solve developmental issues or otherwise prepare your child for successful orthodontic treatment down the road.
One of our methods of treatment used to solve jaw development issues is called the “Magic Mouthguard.” The Magic Mouthguard is an appliance used to help your child’s jaw develop correctly. The mouthguard is worn while they sleep, making it easy to guide your child’s jaw growth and prepare them for braces when they are older. We can use this appliance in addition to any other therapy necessary to make sure your child is on the right path.
After Age 10
After about age 10 is when your child’s jaw begins to become less pliable and most or all of their permanent adult teeth have come in. This is the ideal time for Phase II treatment. Phase II treatment usually entails some sort of braces system in order to align their teeth and solve any other orthodontic problem (such as a bite problem) not solved in Phase I treatment.
We often recommend Fastbraces® for kids because it offers quick results, comfortable treatment, affordability, the option for ceramic brackets, and a beautiful lifelong smile. Kids love Fastbraces® because they don’t have to wear them for 2 or 3 years – most Fastbraces® cases are completed in well under a year, some in as little as 3 months! They are also virtually pain-free – ideal for younger children and teenagers.

Q: How can I tell if my child needs braces?
A:If you are a parent concerned about the health of your child’s teeth and smile and want more information, you are not alone. Many parents contact us on a regular basis wondering how they can tell if their child needs braces. We love helping children feel great about their smiles, and we are here to help you get the information you need in order to make an informed decision.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children should be evaluated for braces for the first time at around age 7, but there are some common telltale signs that your child may need orthodontic treatment. If you notice any of these signs, you should call to make an appointment right away. We can help set your child on the path to a happier, healthier mouth.
Look For The Signs
There are some telltale signs that could indicate that you should seek help. Some common signs your child might need orthodontic care are spacing issues, crowding issues, abnormal tooth loss, abnormal tooth eruption, bite problems, protrusive front teeth, unbalanced profile, and other alignment issues. We take all of these signs very seriously as indicators of developmental problems that may need to be addressed even before your child develops all of their adult permanent teeth. If you notice obvious abnormalities in your child’s mouth, it is best to book a visit to Smile Specialists right away.
What We Can Do To Help
Our office offers both Phase I and Phase II treatment options for children in need. We love treating children at Smile Specialists. Dr. Lagstein even has experience as a pediatric dentist! We can offer solutions to your child’s developmental problems, alignment problems, and more.
If orthodontic care is needed before the child reaches about age 10 (when most of their permanent teeth will come in), we can offer Phase I intervention treatment. Phase I treatment includes any therapies or treatments we can offer to help your child’s jaw and teeth develop normally. We can offer our Magic Mouthguard (it guides growth while your child sleeps!) alone or in conjunction with other therapies in order to improve your child’s situation.
Phase II usually include braces or similar treatments and is completed after your child has developed all of their adult teeth. We offer many different types of braces and will find a solution that fits your child’s specific situation. Fastbraces® are often a great option due to their quick results, comfortability, and long-lasting efficiency.
Make An Appointment
If you have noticed any of the signs mentioned above, please contact our office immediately to schedule an appointment. The sooner we act, the better chance there is for successful treatment. We can intervene on your child’s behalf and potentially head off any orthodontic problems that could lead to more severe issues down the road. For a free consultation, please call (212) 287-1282 or sign up online right now, and a member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible. Let us help your child achieve the beautiful smile they deserve.
Q: What causes crooked teeth?
A:Are you considering braces for yourself or your child? Are you simply wondering what causes crooked teeth and could it have been prevented?
You aren’t the only one with those questions. We are approached with similar questions every day. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, nearly 80 percent of American teenagers undergo orthodontic treatment because they are unhappy with their smiles. Crooked teeth are a huge problem – and that’s why we offer many different options for fixing it.
Common Causes of Crooked Teeth
Here are some common causes of crooked teeth:
- Early loss of teeth – Whether they fall out on their own or are knocked out, the early loss of baby teeth may cause adult teeth to come in incorrectly.
- Gum disease – Gum disease can cause major damage to the jawbone, resulting in teeth shifting out of place.
- Jaw malformations – Your jaw may simply be too small to accommodate all of your teeth, thereby creating crowding and crooked teeth.
- Thumb sucking – A foreign object inside your child’s mouth as their teeth and jaw are developing can be detrimental to the formation of their mouth. End thumb sucking before it becomes an orthodontic problem.
- Pacifier use – Same as with thumb sucking. Prolonged use of a pacifier can result in the incorrect development of your child’s teeth and jaw.
- Poorly fitted dental restoration – If you have had a filling or crown that was incorrectly fitted, it may have caused your teeth to shift out of place.
Is It Genetic, or Am I Doing Something Wrong?
Many times, malocclusion is simply genetic. Your jaw is too small for all of your teeth, or you come from a long line of people with crooked teeth. Genetics do play into how your jaw and teeth develop and do effect your situation from the very start.
However, there are plenty of things you can do to help avoid orthodontic issues. Be careful playing sports – better yet, wear a mouthguard. Mouthguards can protect you or your child from unintended dental injuries. As these injuries can result in tooth loss, you can help to prevent shifting due to bone deterioration from a missing tooth.
It is also important to stay vigilant about your dental hygiene at home. Poor dental hygiene can lead to gum disease, which can compromise the boney support of your teeth and cause your teeth to shift. This is a common cause of crooked teeth, especially in older adults.
Stop your child’s thumb sucking and pacifier use before it becomes a problem. If there are foreign objects in your child’s mouth while their teeth and jaw are developing, you are setting them up for orthodontic problems long term. Do your best to protect your child from needing braces by ending thumb sucking and pacifier use quickly. We have a 10 day behavior modification program for kids age 4 to adults which stops thumb habits.

Q: What happens at my first appointment with Smile Specialists?
A:Making the decision to be evaluated for braces can be intimidating, especially leading up to your first appointment. Have you ever wondered what that first appointment will be like? Let’s take a step-by-step look at what will happen when you arrive at our office for the first time.
When You First Arrive
When you first arrive at our office, you will be greeted by the receptionist and presented with a new patient appreciation gift. You will then complete the necessary new patient forms before being sent back for X-rays and other imaging. The first step in the transformation process is to find out exactly where you stand right now.
Treatment Options
After X-rays, you will speak to our treatment coordinator. During this time you will learn about the different types of treatment we provide and familiarize yourself with your options. We will talk about what changes you’d like to see and what your goals are.
Meeting the Doctor
After meeting with the treatment coordinator, you will proceed to meet the doctor. Dr. Lagstein will perform a full clinical examination and talk about the results with you. Together you’ll discuss which treatment option best suits your specific situation. We can also show you before and after photos of people who have undergone the same treatments you are considering. This is a great time to tell the doctor what your dream smile will look like. We will set up a treatment plan that will help you achieve the results you desire.
Financial Options
The last thing you will do before you leave our office is discuss financial options. We can help you determine the best method of paying for your orthodontic care. Please visit our Payment Options page to read more about the many ways you can finance your care.
Your first visit to our office will be complete in only about an hour. If you have any questions or concerns leading up to your visit, please call our office at (212) 287-1282. To get started, you can sign up for your free consultation online right now. We will be happy to help.
Q: Do teeth have to be removed for braces?
A:Are you considering braces and are worried about needing an extraction? If your teeth are crowded, does that automatically mean you will need to have one or more teeth removed in order to make room for the others?
The short answer is: it depends. It depends entirely on the severity of the crowding, the type of treatment being used, and your specific situation. However, we do try to retain as many teeth as possible when you’re undergoing treatment in order to create a full, broad arch of beautifully straight teeth. We even offer a method of treatment that almost never requires extractions!
Traditional Braces
For many years, orthodontists have used extractions as a way to create room for the rest of the teeth in a patient’s mouth. This method almost always solves the problem at hand – it eliminates overcrowding and allows the remaining teeth to be shifted into a nice, neat arch. However, the thought of having a tooth extracted (especially a tooth that is otherwise healthy!) is quite unpleasant to some people. We understand this and work hard to create a beautiful smile from your natural number of teeth.
We do everything in our power to successfully complete your treatment without turning to extraction – but sometimes, in cases of severe overcrowding issues, it is necessary. In the case of needing an extraction, you don’t have to worry. We will do everything we can to make you as comfortable as possible before, during, and after the procedure. And when treatment is complete, you will have a gorgeous, straight smile!
Fastbraces®
On the bright side, we do offer a solution that almost never requires extraction. Fastbraces® technology is a revolutionary system designed to shift teeth into place faster and more comfortably than traditional braces. The system uses a patented triangular bracket design in conjunction with a square nickel-titanium wire to move both the root of the tooth and the crown at the same time. This results in faster, more efficient, and more comfortable treatment. It also results in fewer extractions! Fastbraces® rarely require extractions, meaning we rarely need to remove teeth when using this revolutionary technology.

When you are under the care of Dr. Lagstein at Smile Specialists, there is no need to worry about the need for extractions. We work hard to retain all of your teeth, if possible, and still achieve the desired results. We also aim to make you as comfortable as possible – our warm and friendly staff will work to make you as comfortable as possible. Feel free to relax – you are in good hands.

Q: How will braces affect my diet?
A:When you are considering braces, you might wonder how the treatment will affect your diet. Because it is important to protect the integrity of the installation, there are certain foods you should avoid altogether. The list isn’t long, and most people easily adapt to the simple changes in diet that braces require.
Foods You Should Avoid While Wearing Braces:
- Caramel, gooey candy, or other sticky substances
- Hard candies
- Chewy or gummy substances, such as taffy or gummy bears
- Popcorn
- Nuts or other hard substances that may become lodged in your braces
- Gum
Parents may need to help their kids stay away from the types of food and candy that should be avoided while wearing braces. To keep your teeth healthy while wearing braces, be sure to clean them thoroughly and remove any particles that become stuck in your braces. This will help to keep your braces intact as well as your teeth clean and free of bacteria.
Other types of food need not be avoided entirely, but should be consumed very carefully. Braces make it difficult for harder substances to be chewed, so be sure to use caution when consuming the following substances.
Foods To Use Caution When Consuming:
- Bagels and other chewy bread
- Apples and carrots
- Chips
- Corn on the cob
These foods are somewhat difficult to consume for people wearing braces because of the large amounts of chewing required. If you choose to consume any of these items, be careful to cut them into small pieces (or off the cob) and eat them slowly and carefully.
Tailoring your diet in these ways will help you protect the integrity of your braces and the health of your teeth. You should also follow any additional hygiene or dietary requirement laid out by your doctor during your initial treatment visit. These guidelines are laid out in order to help you achieve the best results possible.
Contact Us With Any Additional Concerns
If you have any other questions or concerns about what you are able to eat when you get your braces, please contact our office. We are available by phone during business hours. To reach us by phone, call (212) 287-1282, and a member of our team will get back with you as soon as possible. We would love to help answer your questions and set you on the right path to a happier, healthier smile.
Q: Are braces painful?
A:At Smile Specialists NYC, we offer many different options for braces and dental care. If you are considering using braces to achieve a more beautiful smile, you may be wondering if treatment will hurt. This is a common concern of prospective patients, and one that we take very seriously.
It is true that some treatments can cause a bit of discomfort. This is due to the force necessary to shift your teeth into their correct positions. However, our office does offer certain options that are pain free and very comfortable to wear.
We Are Dedicated To You
Your comfort is our top priority. When you visit Smile Specialists, you will notice its large size. Our office was designed with our patients in mind. We have a very comfortable waiting room, complete with a television to enjoy, a snack and beverage bar, and a work area with free Wi-Fi. We know that having orthodontic work completed can be intimidating, and we want to make sure you feel comfortable and at ease at our office. It is our goal to create as many pleasant experiences as possible.
Our Most Comfortable Options
Creating pleasant experiences also means providing our patients with pain-free ways to straighten their teeth. While we offer everything at our office from traditional braces to behind the teeth braces, we try to work with the options that will be most comfortable for our patients. We have two options that we consider to be our most comfortable forms of treatment: Fastbraces® and Invisalign.
Fastbraces® is a fast, affordable, and comfortable solution to your orthodontic needs. Many people qualify for use of this system and love that it produces results in as little as 3 to 6 months without the discomfort of traditional braces. The way the system moves your teeth is unlike any other system. Fastbraces® uses a patented triangular bracket design and heat-activated square wires to shift both the root and the crown of the tooth at the same time. Traditional braces shift the root and the crown separately, often resulting in discomfort when the wires are tightened. Fastbraces® offers pain-free results in a fraction of the time of traditional braces. Who wouldn’t want that?
Invisalign is our other ultra-comfortable option. Invisalign is a short-term braces alternative that is comprised of a series of clear plastic aligners that gradually shift your teeth into place. The system offers metal-free alignment therapy and gentle shifting of the teeth. However, this option isn’t for everyone. Invisalign works for those who have only mildly crooked teeth and no major bite issues. It is ineffective in treating more severe cases of malocclusion, or bite problems.
To determine which of our comfortable solutions is right for you, please contact our office to schedule an appointment. We can be reached at (212) 287-1282 or you can sign up for your free consultation online right now. Let us help transform your smile quickly and comfortably.
Q: How long will I need braces for?
A:If you are considering a straighter smile, you may be wondering how long treatment will take. How long you will need to wear your braces will depend entirely on what type of treatment you will be undergoing. At Smile Specialists, we offer a variety of treatment options. We can treat any situation! Below are some details on how long each type of treatment takes.
Fastbraces®
Fastbraces® are our fastest treatment solution. When you choose Fastbraces®, you are choosing a type of treatment that will provide results in as little as 3 months. That’s just a fraction of the time normally needed with traditional braces! Fastbraces® uses patented bracket technology to move both the crown and root of the tooth simultaneously. These brackets are triangular, and when used with a special nickel-titanium wire, can produce great results. Other types of braces move them separately, therefore requiring longer treatment time. Fastbraces® is also one of our most comfortable options due to this technology. Talk to our doctor to determine if you are a good candidate for Fastbraces®.
Behind The Teeth Braces
Behind the teeth braces work much like traditional braces except for the fact that they are placed behind your teeth. Our behind the teeth braces use nano brackets, making them easy to place (no need for elastic bands!) and more comfortable than larger, traditional braces. This treatment produces results in 6 to 24 months, depending on the severity. This high-tech system produces great results and is completely invisible to your peers.
Invisalign
Invisalign is a short-term braces alternative that we offer here at our office. Invisalign is made up of a series of clear plastic trays that offer comfortable, convenient aligning power. The average time needed for Invisalign to work their magic is about 12 months. Invisalign is often worn for less time than traditional braces, but it isn’t for everyone. Invisalign can only be used with mild cases of malocclusion. For more severe cases of misalignment and bite problems, consider braces.
Traditional Braces
Traditional braces are our slowest form of treatment. The average time for traditional braces to work is about 18 to 24 months. Traditional braces move the crown of the tooth and the root in separate stages of treatment. For faster results, consider Fastbraces®. However, traditional braces often provide great results and are perfect for certain situations. Talk to Dr. Lagstein to determine which treatment is right for you.
If you have any additional questions about the length of treatment, or if you would like to make an appointment, please call our office at (212) 287-1282 or sign up for your free consultation online right now. Let us help you achieve the results you desire. Contact the Smile Specialists today.
Q: How do braces work to straighten teeth?
A:Braces are seemingly complicated contraptions to those unfamiliar with the technology. However, with a little education, understanding how they work is easy. Let’s talk about the basics of braces and how our various types move your teeth differently.
Dental Braces: The Basics
Braces are comprised of three major parts: the brackets, the archwire, and ligatures.
The brackets are the part of the braces that are fixed to your teeth. They are attached using a bonding agent and cured for a secure foundation. Learn more about how the brackets are attached to your teeth here. Brackets are traditionally square, but they are also known to be triangular (Fastbraces®). They are the foundation upon which sits the archwire.
The archwire is a thin, horseshoe-shaped piece of metal wire that is fitted into each bracket on each of your teeth. The archwire’s job is to put pressure on your teeth in order to move them into their desired positions. In most instances, a series of wires is used to straighten your teeth, increasing the gauge as treatment progresses. The wire can be either round or square and is held into the brackets by the ligatures.
The ligatures are the tiny elastic bands that hold the archwire in place. They are placed around in the bracket in order to create security for the archwire. They can be found in many different colors and are changed about every four weeks. Some braces systems use ligatures for security with the exception of Damon braces, which use brackets that are designed to hold the archwire all on its own.
Traditional Braces: Crown Then Root
When you undergo orthodontic treatment using traditional braces, your teeth are moved in two stages. First, the crowns of your teeth are shifted into place. This typically occurs during the first year of treatment. After that, during the second year, the roots are moved. This is the most common way to move your teeth into the correct position and can cause some discomfort during periods of intense shifting.
Fastbraces®: Crown and Root Together
Fastbraces®, however, are an exception. They move both the crowns and the roots of your teeth at the same time. Fastbraces® uses a combination of specially designed triangular brackets and a specific heat-activated wire to shift your teeth quickly and efficiently. Fastbraces® are also unique because they use only one wire for the entire treatment period. This method of movement cuts down on treatment time and discomfort. It also creates more permanent results. Once treatment is complete, patients need to wear their retainer for only about 20 minutes a day instead of the normal 8-10 hours. Our patients love Fastbraces® technology because of the quick results, high comfort level, affordability, and long-lasting smile it provides.

Q: What options are available for invisible braces?
A:Many prospective patients come into our office looking for invisible orthodontic solutions. If that is the kind of thing you are looking for, you have come to the right place! Smile Specialists offers a wide range of excellent orthodontic solutions that produce great results, many of which are aesthetically pleasing. Below are some of our most popular invisible orthodontic options.
Behind The Teeth Braces
Behind the teeth braces are our only orthodontic solution that is considered 100 percent invisible to the naked eye. Due to the way they are placed, behind the teeth braces cannot be seen when you smile or talk. This is great for those seeking discreet orthodontic care – no one will be able to tell you are undergoing treatment! Busy students and hardworking professionals love behind the teeth braces for their high aesthetic appeal.
Our behind the teeth braces employ tiny (“nano”) braces that fit behind your teeth. The placement allows for optimum invisibility, and the brackets allow for ease of placement. These braces do not require ligatures (the small elastic bands that are used to hold the archwire in place), and instead hold the wire in place all on their own. The small size of the brackets means that they will be comfortable in your mouth – it will take only a short period of time to get used to having braces next to your tongue.
Behind the teeth braces are perfect for those who want invisibility combined with the maximum alignment power. Our patients love behind the teeth braces. Learn more about this type of treatment here.
Ceramic Braces With Fastbraces® or Traditional Braces
We also offer clear ceramic braces to those who choose Fastbraces® or traditional style braces. These ceramic braces are clear, allowing the natural color of your tooth to show through. This makes the brackets less noticeable than with traditional metal brackets, though metal wires will still be visible. Combining ceramic brackets with Fastbraces® technology is a great way to achieve excellent results in just a few short months – as little as 3 to 6 months – and still look great while doing it.
Invisalign: An Invisible Braces Alternative
Smile Specialists also offers Invisalign, a great option for invisible short-term orthodontics. Invisalign works its magic in just about 12 months, making it one of our fastest treatment options. Invisalign aligners are made of a clear plastic material that is incredibly aesthetically appealing (you can barely see it!). They are also quite comfortable to wear. However, Invisalign is suitable for only mild cases – for more severe cases of malocclusion, you may need to consider another form of treatment.
Our office offers free consultations to prospective patients interested in our invisible orthodontic solutions. Q: How can I get my dream smile?
A:At Smile Specialists, we are dedicated to helping you get the smile you deserve. The road to your dream smile is just one office visit away. From your very first consultation, we can help you determine which treatment is right for you and get you started on your path to achieving the smile you have always dreamed of.
Your First Visit to Our Office
Your first visit to our office will consist of a few different steps. First, you will be greeted by our receptionist and asked to fill out some new patients forms. You will then be taken back for X-rays and digital photos. It is important to document the current state of your mouth in order to determine the proper course of treatment. After that, you will meet with a treatment coordinator. This the perfect time to ask your questions concerning any specific treatment options you would like to know about. You will then meet the doctor. Dr. Lagstein will perform a thorough examination to determine which treatments are necessary to help you achieve your dream smile. Before leaving the office, you can discuss financial options to determine what sort of payment plan works best for you.
Our Payment Options
We offer a wide variety of payment options including in-house, no-down-payment plans and third-party financing. We will also work with your insurance plans and accept all major forms of payment including major credit cards, cash, and checks. We can work with you to make sure you are taken care of.
Fastbraces®, Behind The Teeth Braces, and More
What treatment option you choose will be determined by your specific situation. We have many great treatment options including Fastbraces®, behind the teeth braces, and traditional braces.
Our Fastbraces® technology uses patented triangular brackets and special nickel-titanium heat-activated wires in order to shift your teeth into position. This technology produces fast results by moving both the crown and the root simultaneously. Traditional braces move the crown and the root during separate phases of treatment, often resulting in longer treatment times and greater discomfort. Our Fastbraces® technology is a revolutionary system that can give you permanent, beautiful results in as little as 3 to 6 months.
We also offer behind the teeth braces. These braces are carefully placed on the backsides of your teeth in order to hide them from view. These braces are our only 100 percent invisible orthodontic option and can solve almost any orthodontic issue.
If neither of these high-tech solutions are a good fit for your orthodontic situation, we do offer traditional braces. Our traditional braces produce reliable, long-lasting results and can create the dream smile you desire.
