I am new at working in the dental field but I am loving it already! Before working at Smile Specialists I was in car financing and internet sales for over 10 years. I love the energy and support I receive from my fellow staff members. I know it may seem too early to say but I feel at home here and I think we are a great fit for each other. I can’t wait to build future memories and help change lives.
Alexa
Alexa has been with the Smile Specialists team for 15 years, boasting more than 25 years in dentistry. She loves meeting new patients and helping them get the dental care they deserve. She enjoys getting to know patients – whether that’s listening to a story or brightening someone’s day when they call the office. Alexa lives in New Jersey with her five children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and staying healthy by working out.
Angie
Angie has been with the Smile Specialists team for 3 years. Her passion is to change patients’ lives by helping them improve their smile. Smile Specialists is the first dental office Angie has worked in, but it’s not just a job for her – it is her career. Angie was born and raised in Teaneck, NJ. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her 7-month-old daughter, Skyler, and boyfriend, Joscelyn. She also loves to cook, relax, go to the movies, and go shopping.
Autumn
Autumn has been with the Smile Specialists team for almost 4 years. She loves working in a dental office and has made lifelong friends with both her colleagues and patients. In her free time, Autumn loves to spend time with her 7-year-old daughter, Jade. She also enjoys relaxing with friends and family.
Gabriella
Gabriella, or Gab as she is known by colleagues and patients, has been with the Smile Specialists team since 2014. She loves working with the other staff members in the office, especially her mother, Tonya. Before entering the dental health care industry, Gabriella worked as a hair stylist for 4 years. She loves helping patients get the results they desire. In her free time, she enjoys working with hair and makeup, baking, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family. She currently lives in Queens.
Karla
Karla worked as an orthodontist assistant for 1 1/2 years but is new to the Smile Specialists team. She has enjoyed working with her new colleagues and meeting the patients. In her free time, she loves watching movies, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Laura
Laura has been with the Smile Specialists team for almost 5 years. Before entering the dental health care industry, she worked as an office manager for about 9 years, a caregiver to her mother for almost a year, and a stay-at-home mom for about 13 years. Her experience with managing an office and caring for people has provided the skills necessary to be successful in a dental office. Laura lives in Pequannock, NJ, with her husband and daughter, Katelyn. She also has a son, Matthew, who lives in Boston. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her family and 1 1/2-year-old golden retriever, Lambeau, and going to the beach.
Lorraine
Lorraine has been with the Smile Specialists team for about 4 years, but she has been working in dental health care since she was 14 years old. She has experience in a periodontist office, with front desk work, billing, ordering, setup and breakdown of the operatories, lab duties, bands placement, and much more. Throughout her experiences, Lorraine has developed a love for hands-on orthodontic assisting. Lorraine lives in Passaic, NJ, with her son, Jezaih. In her free time, she enjoys baking, dancing, listening to music, jogging, and going to the park with Jezaih.
Stephanie
Stephanie has been with the Smile Specialists team for about 1 year. She is a Certified Dental Assistant and loves her work at Smile Specialists NYC. Stephanie currently lives with her sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew, and father in the upper west side of Manhattan. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, shopping, and spending time with family.
Tiffany
Tiffany has been with the Smile Specialists team for about 1 year. She originally joined the team as a receptionist but now works as a financial advisor. Before joining the practice, she graduated from St. John’s University with a BA in sociology and a minor in biology and worked in the fire safety industry. When she’s not in the office, Tiffany loves to spend time with her husband, Kamil, travel, cook, write short stories, play sports, discover new music, and read. She is an avid sports fan and loves to watch soccer, basketball, and track and field; her favorite teams include the New York Knicks, the NYC Football Club, the Giants, and the Yankees.
Tonya
Tonya has been with the Smile Specialists team for about 1 1/2 years, but boasts more than 26 years of experience in the dental and orthodontic fields. She currently lives in Queens with her daughter, Gabby. In her free time, she enjoys riding motorcycles, Jet Skis, surfing, and snowboarding.
Wendy
Wendy has been part of the Smile Specialists family for more than 25 years. Her passion is to help patients get the smile of their dreams. When she’s not in the office, she loves spending time with her husband of 17 years, Dr. Lagstein, and their 11-year-old daughter, Fara. Wendy lives in New Jersey with her family and their two dogs, Sam and Max.
Yvette
Hello, my name is Yvette; I first became a member of the Smile Specialists family about 10 years ago when I was a patient at Dr. Lagstein’s New Jersey office. I’m happy to say that I have been working for the Smile Specialists office four years now! I am 26 years old and while I am originally from New York, I currently live in New Jersey. In my free time I enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes, reading, online shopping and traveling!
Dr. Marvin Lagstein
My staff is highly trained. The clinical staff, which are the staff who actually deal with the patient, they need to be, even if they have experience when they come here, it’s at least 3 to 6 months before they can actually touch a patient because we are systematic, we want to do it right.
Each of these assistants have their own patients who works with the doctor which means when a patient comes in, if they have Lorraine or Tonya, that’s who their hygienist is from beginning to end. And it’s personal, it’s upfront. Those assistants’ job is not just to technically get it right but to make it fast, convenient, on time and most important, make the process fun because this is a fun place.
So we really work hard at getting the right staff and in the right position and when you have that, it’s a very wonderful, fun atmosphere and we take pride when you come here to get your braces straightened but you also come here to have a good time because that’s what we do.
